he first Pizza Factory opened its doors in 1979 in Oakhurst, California (near the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park). Because of Pizza Factorys reputation for quality pizzas, simplicity of concept and median cost of operation, several more Pizza Factories were added. Partners Dan Wheeler and Ron Willey began franchising the business in 1985.
